The Flagship Species Initiative (FSI), under the BINHI Program, aims to protect native flora and fauna species in EDC’s operational wind and geothermal project sites. As part of our efforts to raise public awareness about the species, EDC BINHI partnered with the ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, Inc. (ALKFI), Karaw CraftVentures, and two community organizations from Sorsogon Province — Bacman Host Communities Multipurpose Cooperative (BMPC) and Seeds of Hope.
This collaboration resulted in the creation of the plush toys that will serve as tools to increase the awareness of the general public on biodiversity conservation while developing the capacity of the partner communities to create their own social enterprises based on sewing and tailoring.
